Bud-Off Dehorning Paste offers a chemical method for early horn bud removal in calves, providing an effective alternative to physical dehorning. Best used when calves are around one week old, this product is designed for safe, targeted use on horn buds.

The paste destroys horn-producing cells, preventing horn growth when applied correctly. Proper application technique and handling are essential for safety and effectiveness.

Application Instructions:

  • Do not apply in rainy weather – paste may run into the calf’s eyes
  • Use gloves and shake the tube well before use
  • Trim hair around the horn bud with scissors
  • Apply just enough paste to cover the horn and rub it in, including the base
  • After application, keep calves in a pen for 2 hours to avoid paste transfer to cows

 

Best Results:

  • Apply at one week of age or as close as possible
  • Avoid licking or rubbing by keeping calves separate temporarily
